NTA Cracks Down on Fake Telegram & Instagram Channels: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated a significant effort to combat misinformation related to the NEET UG 2025 by identifying 106 Telegram Channels and 16 Instagram accounts that are reportedly disseminating false information and misleading content about the examination, as per official sources.
This action arises from increasing worries regarding unfounded allegations of paper leaks and the distribution of unauthorized information online. The Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is currently examining the situation.
To address such fraudulent activities, the NTA previously established a specialized grievance portal, encouraging students, parents, and the public to report any suspicious individuals or claims associated with NEET, resulting in 1,500 reports, predominantly linked to Telegram channels.
‘This initiative aligns with the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, which aims to eliminate unfair practices in public examinations and protect students’ futures,’ stated the NTA. The agency has announced that reports of suspicious claims can be submitted through the portal until 5 pm on May 4, 2025.
