New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the minimum percentage required for Class 12 necessary for NEET 2025 eligibility, which differ by category. However, candidates must fulfill these criteria to be eligible for the examination. Meanwhile, attaining these marks is vital for qualification, prompting aspirants to adopt a focused study approach and maintain steady preparation.

Minimum Class 12 Percentage Required for NEET 2025

NEET is held annually for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs throughout India. Given the high level of competition, it is essential to comprehend the eligibility requirements. Moreover, the minimum Class 12 percentage criteria for NEET 2025 categorized as follows: General, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD/PwBD).

General Category

Candidates belonging to the General Category must achieve a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, as well as Biology/Biotechnology in their Class 12 examinations.

SC/ST/OBC (NCL) Categories

Candidates from the SC, ST, and OBC (NCL) categories required to secure at least 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.

PwBD/PwD Category

Candidates in the PwBD/PwD category must obtain a minimum of 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.

Students from Abroad

Individuals who have pursued their studies overseas and wish to gain admission to Indian medical colleges must have completed their Class 12 education. With a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. The equivalency of their qualifications assessed by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In accordance with the guidelines set forth by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the relevant university.

NEET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the NEET 2025 examination, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Age limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2025, with no upper age restriction.
  • Educational Qualification: Completion of Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.
  • Nationality: Eligibility extends to Indian citizens, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Non-Resident Indians (NRI), and foreign nationals.
