The exam’s difficulty, which experts have widely characterized as the most challenging to date.

Some individuals have suggested that the NTA, the body responsible for conducting the test, deliberately increased the difficulty level in response to challenges faced in the previous year. Numerous candidates have drawn parallels between the Physics section and the JEE Advanced examination.

Social Media Reacts: Memes Tell the Story

Memes suggest that the exam was so tough that even NEET instructors found it difficult to solve. “I spent half of the allotted time just trying to tackle the Physics questions; even the Biology and Chemistry questions posed challenges,” a candidate shared on social media.

The Young Indian Statesman on X tweeted: “@The Statesman Why are we establishing systems where a single challenging paper can jeopardize years of effort? What do you think needs to change – the exam, the system, or our mindset?”

Another candidate remarked, “I might need to take a year off to prepare for the next NEET-UG.”

Expert Opinions on NEET 2025

Sham Prasad, Assistant Director at Akash Institute, commented on the candidates, noting that this year’s test was especially difficult, lengthy, and time-consuming.

“This was the most challenging paper in the last 12 years, with Physics being the most difficult subject. It may even surpass JEE in difficulty. Many questions were taken from less frequently covered sections of the NCERT syllabus. The highest score this year is expected to be around 650. Since everyone found the paper challenging, the relative competition remains unchanged. This year’s cut-off score may reach 400+, similar to 2019.”

Leaders of medical colleges have expressed their support for the entrance test format. Dr. Bhaskaran Unnikrishnan, Dean of KMC, Mangaluru, noted that the assessment was more analytical and effective in evaluating candidates.
