NEET UG Expected Cutoff: The anticipated cutoff for NEET 2025 is set to be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) alongside the exam results on June 14, 2025. This cutoff will determine the qualifying marks for all candidates. Subsequently, individual medical colleges and universities will disclose their specific NEET 2025 cutoffs for MBBS and BDS admissions during the counselling process, which will be overseen by the respective counselling authorities.
The NTA successfully conducted the NEET 2025 examination on May 4, 2025. Initial feedback and analysis indicate that this year’s exam was more challenging than in previous years
Why the NEET 2025 Cutoff May Be Lower
Several significant factors are expected to affect the NEET 2025 cutoff:
1. Candidate Count: Approximately 20.8 lakh students participated in NEET 2025, which is about 3 lakh fewer than the previous year, resulting in reduced competition.
2. Exam Difficulty: The NEET 2025 question paper was notably more difficult than in past years, which typically leads to a lower overall score range.
3. Student Performance: Given the challenging nature of the exam, it is improbable that top scores will reach the maximum of 720, directly influencing the cutoff.
4. Seat Availability: For 2025, there are 1,17,950 MBBS seats and 27,868 BDS seats available. The increase in MBBS seats may lead to a slightly lower cutoff.
5. Trends from Previous Years: In NEET 2024, the cutoff saw a slight decrease following a retest. With the 2025 exam being more difficult, a similar or greater decline is anticipated this year.
