- The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced the necessity of utilizing the Automated Permanent Academic Account (APAAR ID). Along with Aadhaar verification for the NEET UG 2025 examination.
3. Issues from Previous Examinations:
- In light of numerous allegations and irregularities in past years, the NTA has once again assigned the responsibility of conducting the examination.
- Last year, several MBBS candidates approached the Supreme Court to express their concerns regarding examination irregularities.
4. Instances of Examination Malpractice: Investigations conducted by law enforcement and the CBI uncovered multiple cases of examination malpractice at certain centers during the NEET UG 2024 examination.
5. Participation Figures: More than 2.3 million candidates participated in the NEET UG examination last year. Making it the largest medical entrance examination in the nation.
Changes in NEET UG 2025
In response to the NEET UG paper leaks, the Ministry of Education, acting on the Supreme Court’s directive. Formed a high-level committee to assess the operations of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and recommend reforms for the entrance examination.
The seven-member committee, chaired by former ISRO head K. Radhakrishnan, proposed several significant recommendations:
1. Firstly, multiple Sessions: Organize the NEET UG 2025 examination in several sessions to accommodate the large volume of candidates.
2. Secondly, hybrid Testing Approach: Introduce a combination of computer-assisted and traditional pen-and-paper testing. To mitigate the risk of paper leaks and enhance exam administration.
3. At last, digital Distribution of Question Papers: Distribute the NEET UG 2025 question papers electronically to examination centers. Where they will printed and handed out to candidates on-site.
